I'm happy to explain the how and why Christian Conservatives reinvented Jesus. It was the grand vision of combining Hardline Right Wing Politics with Christianity.

This reinvention was deemed essential because Christian Conservatives had just come out of 60's when Christians used Jesus to fight against Civil Rights and against peace in Vietnam. Obviously, some way was needed to reconcile Jesus with the blatant bigotry and unlimited support for warfare that American Christians held dear.

Some may think it incongruous that this reinvented Jesus bears little resemblance to the LIBERALS Jesus. The solution was for Modern American Christians to reject THEIR Jesus. Simple as that. And with the Right Wing Control of Media, Christian Conservatives regularly DENY the Jesus of the Bible. (THAT Jesus had a message that was DECIDEDLY Socialist.) So, they ridicule Liberals for not believing in the Re-Invented, War-Loving Jesus.

I love visiting the Circus. I love the Big Tent. The Big Tent Circus is fun because you can see all the Bush/McCain apologists spin the most incredible, most lunatic yarns you can possibly imagine. It's disheartening sometimes that my fellow Christian Conservatives have such little regard for the traditions our nation embraced for decades.

Unfortunately, out of our national victory in WW2, those industries closely associated with that fight, the military contractors and the oil companies, have used the power they accumulated from that conflagration to consolidate power, and squeeze our nation by the gonads ... and demand that we thank them for this insult.

While they have held our nation in a vice-like grip, using fear, smear, and intimidation, other nations have emerged from the destruction of WW2 and have steadily emerged to provide a truly civilized society for their citizens ... surpassing many benchmarks that The United States formerly claimed for themselves.

Just about the only thing we can claim for ourselves as being the MOST anymore are ... spending more money on the military than the ENTIRE WORLD ... and using more oil and gas than any other nation.

And THAT should surprise no one who has been watching.

The Military Supplier Industry and the Oil Companies care about one thing and one thing only ... growing their power and control. They do not care about the health of America .... OR it's citizens.
