April 8, 2008, 2:52 p.m.The press was actively suppressing information, even back as far as the 1970's and 60's. Over 1800 days have passed and the solution is no closer than when the occupation started.

April 9, 2008, 9:18 a.m.Do you remember the Smothers Brothers Show? (Speaking of censorhsip.) We have come a long way since then; its worse now!
The businsess of war has become institutionaized. The selling of war, the funding of war, and the excuses for war have become an American tradition.

April 9, 2008, 2:34 p.m.The casualty rate in Iraq is infinitely smaller than that of Vietnam, where I believe an Average of 200 U.S. casualties occurred daily. What is similar is that the same tired, old, burned-out, drug-infused hippies from the 60s have come out of hiding so they can sing Kumbaya one last time before they go on life support.

April 8, 2008, 3:31 p.m.There were no exit plans when Bush had the first troops deployed, even into Afghanistan.
My husband said then, this will be another Vietnam, and he was right. Smart man, my hubby!

April 8, 2008, 4:03 p.m.Not only no exit but an on going battle that will escalate into the invasion of Iran. Oil is the the target and the reason.

April 9, 2008, 3:25 a.m.They are idiots who think war is profittable. They simply don't realize that they will pay one day. I bet they are counting on the last minute change of heart to get them to heaven.
Fools God is smarter than them.
I'm sure he is looking at all the carnage and just weeping for all the horrors of man. He will not be patient forever.
His anger will be felt and it will not be good.

Good story.
I love what the gentleman said. When he stated that most who criticized the returning vets thought we didn't fight hard enough. We fought damn hard it was our lives at stake as well as our friends lives. We wanted to win the damn war. They didn't let us.
General Waste More Men and his ilk sacrficed us for the political powers that were as well as the corporate coffers.
Bush is just as bad if not worse he has Vietnam as an example of poor leadership and yet continues to follow his warped and murderous plans.
He will one day have to pay. As will all who murder men in the name of profits. Hope he feels it is worth it then.
Going to be mighty hot and dark, but I'm sure he'll see his misery alright.

April 9, 2008, 10:27 a.m."Vengence is mine, thus sayeth...". I can't be appeased by a judicious afterlife. I'm cynical enough to know zebras don't change their stripes, but we can call them by their stripes. Is it that snakes have grown legs and now walk among men? If we can't tell them because they no longer slither, then look at the book and know the fool for what he is. This AntiChrist is the archtypical example. Not a killer for a passion, or religious zeal, but a cold butcher for mammon.

April 9, 2008, 1:51 p.m.This war was all about oil & getting even for daddy...that is the truly sad truth. G.W.B. is no better than Hitler, and certainly less intelligent.
Actually war use to be profitable. 40 years ago our economy would have been booming if we were in a war. Sadly not only did we get go to war for the wrong reason, (Revenge-Oil-Money) we also are in worse financial shape than the war began!

April 9, 2008, 2:35 p.m.This is an incredible exaggeration and an understatement of the horrors of the Nazi Regime. I can think of 6 million Jews and another 6 million non-Jews who would take issue with that assertion, if they were here.
